1. Raghu Rai


Raghu Rai, an Indian Photographer and Photojournalist, who was born in 1942 and followed his passion for photography since 1965. He was the Head of photography for India Today from 1982 to 1992. In the year 1984, he did a detailed research on Bhopal’s Chemical Tragedy and portrayed the miseries of the victims through his photography. In 1971 he was awarded the Padma Shri, one of the highest civilian awards ever granted to a photographer in India.

2. Dayanita Singh


Dayanita Singh, known as the “bookmaker who works with photography”, was born in 1961. Her styles of photography are: Documentary and Portrait. She mainly did black and white photography and developed a reputation for her unique style. Her photography basically revolves around the lives of Elite and Middle Class. She has also published twelve books, which are narrative and a new experience all together. “Prince Claus Award” was awarded to her in the year 2008.

3. Atul Kasbekar


Atul Kasbekar is one of the top Fashion Photographer and Bollywood Film Producer. He was born in the year 1965. In 1991 he started his photography profession through his Studio, Negative space. He is recognised for his Kingfisher Calendar Shoots and was also the Indian Photographer’s Guild’s Honorary Chairman. He was the first Indian to receive the coveted 2005 International Food and Beverage Artistic Excellence Awards.

4. Dabboo Ratnani


Dabboo Ratnani is one of the top Indian Fashion Photographer. He was born in the year 1971. In his initial years he used to work as an assistant photographer under Sumeet Chopra. Around 1995 he started his career as an independent Photographer. He was awarded with Dadasaheb Phalke award in the year 2019 for his excellence in photography.

5. Sooni Taraporevala


Sooni Taraporevala is not only a famous Indian Photographer but also a Screenwriter and Film Producer. Her photography portrays the lives of ordinary people of Mumbai. She is widely known for the screenwriting of “Mississippi Masala”. She also received a Padma Shri, India’s fourth-highest civilian award in 2014.



 

6. Rathika Ramasamy


Rathika is one of India's foremost wildlife photographers. In the year 2005, she was a member of the Clean Ganga Campaign and her photography was exhibited at 'India International Center' at New Delhi. She is a founder member of Wildlife Conservation of India and Nikon's Professional Services. In 2015 she received "Inspiring Icon Award" for her excellence in photography.

7. Sudhir Shivaram


Sudhir Shivaram is an inspiring wild life photographer from Hassan, Karnataka. He was born in the year 1972. He was one of the brand ambassadors of Canon. He was also the founding member of the non-profit photo sharing site India Nature Watch. Currently, he is a full-time photography teacher, conducting Wildlife Photography Tours and Workshops.

8. Gautam Rajadhyaksha


Gautam Rajadhyaksha was one of the popular fashion photographers in India. He was born in the year 1950. During his lifetime, he published photobooks 'Faces and Anjaam' and his works have been published in San Fransico, Dubai, London and in several parts of India. Rajadhyaksha died on 13 September 2011, in the morning, three days before his 61st birthday, from a heart attack.


 

9. Prabuddha Dasgupta


Prabuddha Dasgupta was a popular fine-art photographer. He was born in the year 1956. He published many artbooks of his photos, including Women, Ladakh and the book “Edge of Faith” by William Dalrymple, which portraits of the Catholic community in Goa. Prabuddha Dasgupta passed away in Alibaug due to heart attack on Sunday August 12, 2012.


 

10. Arjun Mark


Arjun Mark is widely known for his advertisement photography featuring many celebrities. His photos were published in many leading magazines including, among others, GQ, Vogue, L’uomo Vogue-Italy, ELLE, Harper’s Bazaar, Grazia and Marie Claire. In the 2010 International Photography Awards (IPA) Arjun’s outstanding fine art and portraiture earned him a total of nine “Honourable Mentions”.
